"A comfortable home"

My independent mom had suffered from several advanced health conditions over many years. Throughout the last couple of years, she had different complications that required planned and emergency hospital stays, followed by extended stays at skilled nursing and residential care facilities. She returned to her home each time.  Upon another emergency visit to the hospital, we agreed that a board-and-care home, residential care facility would be the best solution for her 24-hour care needs.  Our standards were high and our timeline quick.  I had been with her through her prior complications and stays. We all wanted something better than before and as close as possible to feeling like home.

We found this at My Place On Garland Way.  I knew the moment I met owner-administrator Rudy and house manager-head caregiver Arlene.  They are two of the most special people I have ever met.  My mom praised the home right away, and she was very particular with tough standards.  She came to love Arlene and Rudy.

When my mom experienced her last health complication and emergency hospital visit, she said she wanted to return home to My Place.  Arlene and Rudy became instant family to us and continue to be.  I am very grateful for My Place and feel lucky to have found such a comfortable home for my mom and extended family for all of us  ~ Monica M.

"We were considered Family"

“God works upstream” to prepare the way and on October 16, 2025, He, God, had prepared the way for Aaron, in the way of Rudy Peters, pastor/owner of “My Place on Garland Way”.

Aaron suffered a traumatic head injury and as a result, Rudy arrived at Sutter Trauma Center to interview Aaron as a possible candidate for his board and care home. Aaron aced his interview with Rudy and Rudy decreed that Aaron was “A fine chap” and would be accepted as a resident.

“My Place on Garland Way” treated Aaron with the dignity, respect and compassion that an Alzheimer patient should have, plus treated the family in the same manner. The facility is absolutely pristine and Rudy and the caregivers were on a one-on-one basis with me on a daily basis. If it was after hours and an update or action was needed, Rudy would call me at home. They also fed me on a daily basis as I spent many hours at the facility. We were considered “Family”.

I cannot find enough expressive words to explain to you that it was a blessing that Rudy accepted Aaron as a resident of “My Place on Garland Way”.

May God pour his blessings on Rudy, the facility and staff for continued success with Residents.

Special “Thank You" to Arlene, Aaron’s caregiver. Arlene was absolutely THE BEST CAREGIVER EVER! ~ Carmen H
